A boutique hostel in the heart of Townsville, 'Flashpackers' if you will! If you're looking for a premium, clean, friendly, central hostel, with comfortable beds and good Wi-Fi, you've come to the right place!
Sovereign House is a heritage listed building, with high ceilings, extra large rooms and facilities, with wrap around verandahs and a cafe and bar on site.
Our dorm rooms are male, female or mixed and accommodate 6 people, ages 18-35, and there is no overcrowding here! Relax in one of the many shared spaces, or read a book in the hammocks, our hostel is the perfect stay while you're in Townsville. If you need help securing your 88 days we can help with that too, just see Coppo for a list of jobs!
We are a short taxi or uber ride from the airport, we are literally across the road from the train station and a scooter or taxi/uber from the bus stop. The street we are located on is the main street in Townsville.

Don’t stay here if at all possible.
Rooms are filthy. We were given dirty bedsheets to put on the bed when looking for clean ones there were no staff to ask. They had blood and make up stains on them.
The carpet in the room had never been hoovered the dust was horrendous and the rooms had cockroaches.
The owner came in shouting telling people to check out even though no one in our room was checking out that day.
Kitchen appliances were disgusting we opted to not use anything. The overall dirt of whole hostel was horrendous. Do not stay here unless your very stuck

Ich hatte zwei Betten gebucht, was passiert, wir bekommen nur 1 Bett. Rufen den Manager an, er sagte er würde kommen und ist nie aufgetaucht.
Die Zimmer stinken abscheulich.
Wir waren nur eine Nacht da. Duschen und Kochen hätten wir dort nicht wollen. Geht lieber ins Civic Backpacker.

Kitchens where dirty, no cold water, bathroom was always taken.
At checkin the guy was going to send us (we both did give our number separately) information and the wifi code we never got this. Needed to ask twice to even get sheets and bedding. It was freezing in the room. Bad experience sadly enough.
