Name says it. An oasis in a sprawling hot city. A quieter hostel in a good neighborhood with stores and restaurants and parks. Warm showers, fans, kitchen and lounging areas plus bar terraza. Could use larger lockers. Go out and dance salsa with the other guests.

The hostel is located in a residential neighborhood near Parque de Perros. It is less touristy than San Antonio yet more vibrant. There is a wonderful cafe (Xocalata Pan y Cafe) catty corner from the hostel where you can get “almuerzo completo,” a full lunch with soup, beverage and an entree for less than $3 (USD)! The hostel is quiet yet social. The free salsa classes are a great benefit, and there are often group social outings. My private room was a bit dark and cramped, but overall not bad.

I came to Cali thinking “I’ll just stay for the weekend”, but then I got to Oasis and that weekend turned into 2+ weeks. In short, it’s one of the best hostels I have stayed at. It has all the amenities you need and the staff + volunteers make this place feel like a home away from home. I did not want to leave but had to, but I look forward to the day I go back. Also it’s really cool bc you can take salsa classes there and get the best massage of your life 🙌🏽 So def recommend.
