Ocean front and just 10 minutes from town, Skully?s House is the perfect combination of private rooms, shared dorms and common kitchens and dining areas for all to share.
We have 4 dorm rooms (1 with newly installed A/C) and 5 ocean front private rooms. Dorms are quite unique with unusual bed placement so every person can choose what fits their best comfort. Each bed has a lamp, fan, and electrical outlets to charge your electronics. Each has its own bathroom with hot water shower. Private rooms are all ocean front with A/C, mini fridge, private bath with hot water and can sleep 2 - 6, depending on the room.

I wasn’t a huge fan of this place, mostly due to personal preference. The photos on Hostelworld really misrepresent skullys imo - this is a straight up pirate themed hostel/bar with classic American rock playing all day and plastic skeletons and pirate murals scattered about. If that’s not your vibe, you probably won’t like the aesthetic here. In addition, the dorms have zero sound proofing so can get pretty noisy at night, and I really missed AC. Really strange hostel, rooms were roasting as the fans didn’t blow more than a tiny bit of cool air. Staff were rude and unhelpful at front desk. Dirty bathroom.

If you‘re looking for a real kind of backpacker place this is might not be it, it actually felt as if they don‘t particularly care about backpackers coming there. I know some people can be pigs but no need for condescending rule signs like the one in the kitchen, we‘re not idiots. Also the wifi is terrible, basically only worked in the bar/restaurant area where it‘s really noisy. Kitchen and bathrooms were really clean though!
