Hostal Cumbres del Volcan Escalon, founded in 2010 is a small hostel located in the Escalon neighborhood, has private rooms and shared rooms in a traditional Salvadoran house.
We have 5 private rooms, 2 have A/C, cable TV, private bathroom with hot water (Red Room & Blue Room). The other 2 private rooms are rooms with shared bathroom (Cuarto Blanco, Cuarto Naranja & Cuarto Limn). We have 2 shared rooms, each with its own bathroom with hot water, one (Green Room) has 5 single beds, the other (Brown Room) has 3 bunk beds with 6 beds. The entire hotel has free WiFi. We offer secure parking in front of the hostel and in the garage. Kitchen facilities are available for guests, plus we serve delicious breakfasts, lunches and dinners, we also have laundry service for an extra cost.
We are in an excellent location, across the street from the Mexican Ambassador's residence and half a block from the Crowne Plaza Hotel and the new Futura Tower and Plaza Futura. There are many excellent restaurants and bars within walking distance in a very safe area. The owners are an American (me), and his Salvadoran wife.

Staff was nice and it felt safe and secure with the different keys. The facilities were clean and the atmosphere was nice. There were nice outdoor/indoor areas to relax in. Lastly, it was in a convenient location with some decent things in walking distance. The only two major concerns were:
-whenever the doorbell rang, I could hear it from the room so it was annoying to wake up to randomly
-the orange room I slept in felt hotter than the outside, even with the fan on

Good stay overall. Bit far out of the centre but thats on me not them. Socializing was non existent during my stay but might just be unlucky. Overalk good stay would recommend if you want to be out of the city!

Rooms were fine but there wasn’t a single good working shower with hot water that didn’t have inches of standing water because it wouldn’t drain. There was a guy who has been there for months in our room who was very drunk and made us very uncomfortable multiple times. The breakfast was good and staff were nice but overall didn’t feel comfortable here, I don’t recommend it
