Featuring a sunny rooftop terrace, The Village Canberra is situated in the heart of Canberra's city centre, just 10 minutes’ walk from Lake Burley Griffin. Guests also enjoy an onsite games room.
The Village Canberra is 5 minutes' walk from the coach terminal, which offers connections to Sydney and Melbourne. It is 5 minutes’ drive from the Australian War Memorial, the National Museum of Australia and Parliament House. Canberra Airport is a 15-minute drive away.
Guests can enjoy a meal in the BBQ area. The Village Canberra also offers a communal kitchen.
All rooms are air conditioned and feature a work desk. Some rooms have a private bathroom, TV and tea/coffee making facilities.
- Cancellation policy: 24h before arrival. In case of a late cancellation or No Show, you will be charged the first night of your stay.
- A valid credit card and ID must be presented on check-in. (Acceptable forms of ID are an Australian Driver's License or an International Passport)
- Check-in from 2pm - Check-out by 10am
- Payment upon arrival by credit cards, debit cards (This property may pre-authorize your card upon arrival) - 2% surcharge applies on all EFTPOS and credit card transactions.
- Taxes included General:
- Reception hours: 24 hrs - No curfew
- Age restriction: 18-35 in dorms
- Maximum stay 14 days
- While we make the greatest effort to place all guests of a group booking into the same room, this is not always possible. To avoid having a group split up, book well in advance.
- We cannot guarantee the same room for the duration of your stay, as existing bookings may make this impossible. We try our best to avoid moving guests around, however in order to guarantee this please book well in advance.
- No refund policy. Payment made towards all bookings can only be obtained in the form of booking credit for any nights cancelled.

This is the only hostel in Canberra so they can charge whatever they want and rip you off. The kitchen was big but had disgusting fruit flies everywhere and hardly any cooking equipment. Rooms were large but so dirty- despite cleaners there was mouldy food on the table and it looked a mess. Some staff were patronising and obnoxious and tried to enforce rules which not documented or advised upon check in. The only saving Grace for this hostel is there is a large common room however, the tv didn’t work despit

The Village Canberra was okay for the two nights we stayed there. The staff was great and the building is close to the activities we wanted to do. I think the building overall is clean, but the second day we stayed here a weird smell was spreading through the building. I also found food in the corner underneath my bed, I think from the people who stayed in our room before us. The bathroom and kitchen were fine, just not that many utensils in the kitchen.

Rooms were nice and bright. I booked a 8 bed female room but there were only 3 of us in there which was nice. No curtains on bed tho. Staff really helpful and nice. Property very clean but there was a lack of stuff in the kitchen like plates and cutlery. Was really quiet when I was there so not really any atmosphere but I didn’t mind cos I wanted somewhere quiet.
