Great hostel, the staff and team are wonderful and make the hostel a lovely place. It’s the atmosphere that made it good for me.
It is a 10-15 minute from the centre but to be honest, there’s not a lot to do in Aqaba, and there isn’t great places to swim (head to Dahab)!
There was a mix up when I booked which meant I had to stay in Al Amer 2, which isn’t as good, it’s a bit more hectic and there is music nearby that goes on late. Take ear plugs if you stay there, but ideally come to Al Amber hostel.

It was shared room and there wasnt curtain with other people so it was hard to sleep in the bright light in the room. Also there is not plug in the room for european adaptor and they dont have the changer they have just 2 shared plug and room was for 7 person. I put my phone until morning and still didnt charged properly. The staff was good but the sheets wasnt clean at all. Also internet connection was very poor in my room. It is not worth that money actually.

More like a home than a hostel. Stayed 3 days and Abdallah and family made us feel like guests in their house rather than visitors. Cheapest hostel in Aqaba, no bunk beds, amazing affordable breakfast and sometimes dinnervand great travel info from very knowledgeable locals. We booked 3 scuba dives through the hostel as well and it was brilliant
