We have a 48 hour cancellation policy - if you wish to cancel, you must give us 2 days notice before your arrival date.
Special Events are non-refundable! Check in "Things to Note"
Special Events - Easter, Hogmanay, rugby weekends, etc - bookings will be charged 1 month in advance, (within 24 hours, if the booking is made less than a month prior to arrival) and are non-refundable. If the card is declined, the booking will be cancelled.
No Shows will be charged in full.

The Edinburgh Backpackers Hostel is a fun hostel aimed at young and young at heart backpackers looking to enjoy themselves in Edinburgh. We have 4 separate buildings comprising of a variety of dormitories and private rooms, in the very best location in Edinburgh! We pride ourselves on our friendly and helpful attitude and are always on hand to give recommendations of our favourite attractions, historical sites, pubs, clubs, restaurants and local businesses.

*Due to the historical nature of our buildings, we have a lot of stairs and no elevator - be prepared to climb!

*A £3 all day luggage storage upon departure
*Free WIFI throughout all our buildings
*Free tea and coffee in shared kitchen
Our clean and comfortable dormitories range in size from 5 beds to 14 beds. All of our dorm rooms have power points for every guest, key card access (cash deposit required) and security lockers (cash deposit required).
We have 20 recently renovated private rooms spread across our 4 buildings. The options available include singles, doubles, twins, triples and quad rooms. Not all room types are available as en-suites.
In our main building we have a fully equipped self-catering Kitchen, with everything you need to keep yourself fed on a budget.
Our 2 common rooms are a great place to meet fellow travellers. We have a games room with pool table and darts board and a TV/dining room with Sky TV, book exchange and board games.
* No under 12's in our hostels under any circumstances, no under 18's in our dormitories
* All under 18's (no under 12's) must be booked into a private room with an adult.

We really enjoyed our stay. The location is fantastic, the main hostel is exactly how you imagine a travellers hostel to be. The atmosphere amongst the travellers was great although we didn’t spend much time there. We were hugely disappointed by the fact we were boarded in a second hostel around the corner from the main one. Although we had all of the amenities offered to us we didn’t have wifi and were told we had to get out of bed to send messages which is inconvenient and false advertising.

The staff were really welcoming and always up to help you when you needed it. The bathrooms and bedroom were really clean.
It’s right next to the train station so if you are arriving at the station it only takes you like a 3 minute walk to get to the hostal. Is really close to all the main sights of old town and there is a lot of shops and restaurant near the area.
