Instant sleep is an independent hostel in Hamburg with its own and a little unconventional style, located in the quarter 'Sternschanze'. Since 1999 we welcome guests from all over the world.
Enjoy our relaxed atmosphere: about 50 persons can stay in the beds of our eleven differently designed rooms. So we are a good address especially for people travelling on their own or in small groups and looking for room to sleep.
We are a classic backpacker hostel: with colourful, but simple rooms, a well equipped kitchen and communal bathrooms on the corridor. The hostel's heart is our lounge: here you can relax and meet other guests.
Do you want to be able to cook your own meals? And have good conversation with your fellow travellers? You've come to the right place!
There's a communal room where you can eat, drink and play games with others. We don't provide breakfast but you're welcome to cook in our fully-equipped kitchen.
We have free coffee and tea!
There's two bars below the hostel so it can get pretty lively around here, but there's no curfew!

Pros: nice decor. Reception are friendly. Communal space is comfortable and the kitchen is really good.
Cons: Super loud outside the rooms at night, lots of police and ambulance sirens + trains. Uncomfortable beds. Really bad shower situation, with nowhere to put clothes and you had to press the shower button every four seconds. Also, they insisted on keeping toilet and shower doors open leading to direct views of cubicles and changing spaces, men’s and women’s.

Great hostel, friendly staff, good vibes. In a great neighborhood for social activities in Hamburg and convenient access to public transit to get you elsewhere in the city. If you have a roller suitcase it likely won’t fit in the lockers, so something to keep in mind, but not really an issue since you can just store your valuables in the locker. Would definitely recommend!

My stay was overall very nice! I liked that there was a floor only for women. I wish the reception was open 24/7 but that's probably my only complain.
