Gecko Guesthouse has been welcoming backpackers since 2003, We are one of the older and livelier guesthouses in Pantai Cenang and have an on-site bar open til midnight.
Our location is excellent, just off the main road and 3 minutes walk to the beach and 10 minutes walk to Cenang Mall.
Our best asset is the lovely tropical garden area where one can relax, read a book, play online or simply swap stories with fellow travelers and make new friends. We offer various types of accommodation to suit your budget from dormitory to air-con rooms and have double and twin rooms available.

1. Cancellation policy: At least 1 day advance notice for free cancellation.
2. Check in from 12:00 to 23:00.
3. Check out before 12:00 noon.
4. Payment upon arrival by cash only.
5. Reception working hours 09:00-23:00.

Gecko Guesthouse was a really nice place to stay! It is close to Cenang beach, which usually can be very pricey to stay in because there are a lot of restaurants and nice hotels, but Gecko is the secret to staying in Cenang affordably. The dorms are OK but they offer different types of private rooms which are great. The staff is extremely helpful and nice. The main chill out area is relaxing and a good place to mingle with the other guests.

I spend the worst 4 night in Malaysia, the beds make to much noise all the night I week up and try to sleep again and it’s not comfortable at all, the room was for homeless people not for Travler, i was talking to one of the staff about the noise, he said that what we have !

The staff were excellent, gave us all the best info in our further travels and we’re very friendly! The rooms were okay, it was very warm as we only had a fan but for the price it was good. Really cute place, chilled out vibes and close to the main street.
