Situated perfectly on a quiet canal side street in the city centre The Golden Stork is Den Haag’s newest and cosiest hostel.
We offer 5 dorm rooms of different sizes and themes; The Green House, The Beach Hut, The Locker Room, The 070 (Netherlands joke, ask our staff about it) and Bierkade - a homage to our beautiful canal street. All beds have their own light and wall socket, individual storage section and luggage space, fresh linen is provided, towels and a delicious continental breakfast will only cost you a small fee.
We are within SUPER easy walking distance of all major attractions; the Houses of Parliament, Vredespaleis, Kings Palace, Mauritshuis, Escher Museum and others. We are just down the road from the shopping district, both the main high street and cute back streets with boutique stores. The hostel is practically inside Chinatown, a great place to head out for dinner and central to both city squares, Grote Markt and Plein, brimming with cafes, terrace bars and live music venues.
Between 5-10 minute walk from both train stations and only 10 minutes by tram (the Bierkade stop is right outside the hostel door) to sandy Scheveningen beach.
Golden Stork organizes daily evening entertainment by hosting free events for the hostel guests. Every Tuesday there is Boardgamenight with games such as Monopoly, Jenga, Uno and Exploding Kittens. Guests can enjoy live music with different genres and join in with the weekly Jam Sessions as well. We also run a Golden Stork exclusive and city walking tour every week so you have the chance to explore the city with a local. We organize more activities, check our calendar for most up to date events.
In partnership with local business we strive to bring you the best Den Haag has to offer from Roast Factory coffee - roasted right here, to Kompaan and Eiber craft beers- brewed right here and homemade cakes by our chefs. Not only this but guests get exclusive discounts in our Vegetarian cafe which is open everyday.

The bathrooms and room were dirty, the room is too small, too hot and the key didn't always work, I got locked out a few times.

The staff members where superfriendly, there was a good and lovely atmosphere. Nevertheless the dormitory was really small, there was not enough space for our luggage. There is now window and no individual light - this means if you check out early (like 8:00 am.) you need everyone else in the room by turning the lights on, so that you can pack your things.
Bathroom and toilettes clean (strange cleaning hours 7:30 - 8:30).
All in all, we had a nice stay for one night :)

Beloved place for the locals: a real nest for whom who loves the bohemian side of the planet. As for the capsule beds & room: if you are able to put human beings into a little room without window - you certainly have problems. Or is this a holland custom? I've never seen this before... Are we talking about hospitality or STORAGE? BUT Reception guy was EXTREMELY helpful after the miscommunication around booking, than
