Our beautifully restored 9 bedroom colonial house is perfectly located between the two Barra beaches. On a charming safe residential street famous for trendy bars restaurants and nightlife.

Comfort & Safety

We have recently installed all new super strong Metal hygienic beds that have large safe stairs to access the upper bunk, reading lights and power sockets for each guest. All mattresses are protected with mattress protectors that are professionally cleaned every month. A large secure locker that will hold all your baggage is located under your bed.

Each room is climate controlled with modern silent split air-conditioning + fans and have private bathrooms in your room.

Location

Located in the safest district of Salvador (Barra) you will find Barra Guest Hostel. Nestled in a quaint tree lined residential street right next to one of Salvador's most fashionable squares Jardim Brasil (Garden of Brasil) which boasts some of the best restaurants and music bars in the area. A five minute stroll from the Hostel and you will find yourself on the beautiful Porto da Barra beach with its own Naval fort or the Farol da Barra beach beneath its ancient Light House (First Light House in South America) where you can play in the warm Atlantic surf. Access to the old Historical City of Pelourinho is 10 min by taxi or 15 min bus ride away R$2.40

Russell & Keyko the English Brazilian owners will spend time with every guest to advise on local attractions and advice with regards to staying safe when visiting Pelourinho and other down town attractions.
We are fluent in English and Portuguese.

If your arrival time is after 11.00pm you must produce a hard copy of your booking confirmation to the night security before you will be permitted onto the premises.

Other Hostel Facilities

A large fully fitted + equipped guest kitchen with microwave, cooker, fridge and storage space. The Hostel is spacious and has several relaxed social areas both inside and out. We have preserved the colonial style of this old property with its high ceilings and large rooms so you will never feel like you are cramped. We have a dedicated DVD lounge, an information area with two super fast PCs fully Skype enabled and our Tourist information desk.

Breakfast

Our famous Hot and cold served Breakfast is available from 7.30am in our café and will set you up for the day.

Outside we have provided several social areas with hammocks and informal seating to enjoy a drink in the sun.

Sports Hire Center

We have several surfboards from a simple body board for the beginner to advanced boards for the pro surfer.

We also have mask, snorkel, and fins to explore the shallow reefs at out local beaches + other beach games available exclusively for our guests.

During Carnival the week before Carnival the week after Carnival ,Christmas and new Years week a 50% deposit is required in addition to the deposit you paid Hostelworld. The deposit must be paid to Barra Guest Hostel within two weeks of making your booking with Hostelworld.
Deposits are non refundable, Bookings are not transferable.
